Fans filled the West Club Lounge at Paul Brown Stadium on Wednesday to mix and mingle with members of the Cincinnati Bengals and help tackle hunger.
The 14th Annual Taste of the NFL hosted by Bengals Linebacker Rey Maualuga and Chef Michael Ly of The Pacific Kitchen raised money for the Freestore Foodbank.
The cost of one admission will help the Freestore Foodbank provide 525 meals to hungry children and families in the Tri-State area.
“This is one of the biggest fundraisers to support the Freestore Foodbank,” said Sarah Cook, public relations specialist for Cincinnati’s Freestore Foodbank. “We’re expecting to bring in enough to provide the equivalent of about 400,000 meals through this event, which is a tremendous support as we work to serve our hungry neighbors right here in the community.”
More than 40 restaurants served up dishes including The Pacific Kitchen, Holtman’s Donuts, Jean Robert’s Table, nada, SALAZAR, and Pontiac BBQ.
Since its inception in 2003, the Taste of the NFL has raised the equivalent of more than three million meals for the Freestore Foodbank’s efforts.
